Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) refers to innovative homes specifically designed for individuals with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. These residences aim to facilitate a more independent lifestyle for people with disabilities while ensuring access to high-quality support within their homes.
Funded by the NDIS, SDA housing offers participants a range of homes customized to their unique needs, circumstances, and lifestyle preferences. Through individualized NDIS Plans, participants can access various support services, including specialized housing through SDA (Specialised Disability Housing).
The NDIS represents a groundbreaking approach to supporting Australians living with disabilities, their families, and carers. It provides tailored assistance to individuals under 65 with enduring and substantial disabilities, aiming to help them achieve personal goals related to independence, community engagement, education, health, and well-being.
At SDA Choice, we build purpose-built homes aligned with the SDA Design Standard of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), tailored to participants’ unique needs. Through stringent design standards and group home options setup by NDIS, we aim to enhance independence and meet the distinct requirements of people with disabilities.
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) funding is allocated based on four levels of design categories. In order to be eligible to move into SDA Provider Group properties, one of these categories must be funded in your NDIS plan. These design categories ensure that the specific housing needs and support requirements of individuals with disabilities are met in a tailored and appropriate manner.
